The Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Energy, and Utilities is advancing two landmark national initiatives designed to accelerate the Federation’s transition toward clean, efficient, and resilient energy systems: SOLARISE and DRIVE.

These programmes form part of a coordinated national strategy to reduce carbon emissions, strengthen energy security, and modernise both the electricity and transport sectors in alignment with national development and climate goals.

Solar Integration for Sustainable Energy

SOLARISE is the national framework for enabling and regulating distributed renewable energy generation in Saint Kitts and Nevis.

It establishes the foundation for safe, structured, and incentivised participation in the country’s clean energy transition through rooftop and small-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.

Decarbonised Roadway Initiative for Vehicle Electrification

EV

The Decarbonised Roadway Initiative for Vehicle Electrification (DRIVE) is a Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis programme designed to accelerate the transition to clean, energy-efficient transportation. DRIVE supports the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) by establishing enabling policies, incentives, and infrastructure that reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels.

DRIVE advances the Federation’s sustainable development goals by lowering greenhouse gas emissions, improving energy security, and fostering innovation in the mobility landscape. The initiative forms a key part of the Government’s commitment to building a resilient, low-carbon future.
